Our MRI, CT and diagnostic X-ray services are available to patients from any referring physician − whether they are a patient at Kansas Spine or not. We offer same-day scheduling for X-rays and CT scans. MRIs are typically accommodated within a few days.
Patient Comfort with Multi-sensory MRI
We are especially sensitive to the needs of individuals who may experience anxiety in confined spaces. In the interest of patient comfort, Kansas Spine is among the first in Kansas to offer a multi-sensory MRI experience. Patients may choose from several video themes featuring calming nature footage with accompanying music.
Our MRI also features a larger opening or “bore,” which eases the process for patients who experience discomfort in small spaces. This immersive experience gives patients a sense of control over their environment, minimizing anxiety.
Staff and referring physicians also notice:
- Less motion during scans
- A reduction in rescans
- Improved imaging quality
This technology incorporates years of design research and collaboration, aimed at optimizing patient comfort and imaging quality. As an added benefit, the MRI operates with only seven liters of liquid helium, compared with 1,500 liters for previous technology, a plus as helium is a finite resource.
